Preschool FAQs

Do you offer the Georgia State Lottery-Funded Pre-K class?

St. James preschool is a private preschool exempt from licensing by the Department of Early Care and Learning.  We follow the Georgia laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to childcare.  However, we are limited to 5 hours of operation per day.  Therefore, we do not offer the Lottery-funded Pre-K class at our preschool.

Do you offer discounts if more than one family member attends the preschool?

We are not able to offer a discount at this time.

Why do you have a registration fee?

The Registration Fee covers the cost of supplies, equipment use, utilities, building and playground maintenance, staff training and special events and visitors.

Do you accept Religious Exemptions in place of the GA #3231 Immunization Form?

We cannot accept Form #2208 per the policy of the Archdiocese of Atlanta Catholic Schools. Please click here to view the policy on Immunizations: Immunization Policy

Do you offer after school care?

We are not able to offer after school care due to our 5 hour restriction of operation per day.

Does your preschool go on field trips?

We do go on field trips, however we do not leave the school premises. Some of our field trips include a visit from our local fire and police stations where the children learn about safety and sit inside a fire truck or police car, and a going to the “beach” day when we have fun sand and water activities outside.

What days are you closed?

We follow the Henry County Schools schedule, so when they are closed, we are closed. You can find our current school year closing dates on our Forms and Information page.

Do you provide transportation?

We are unable to offer school transportation to our preschool families. You are expected to have someone to drive your child to and from school daily.

Do you have a meal program?

Due to the small size of our program, we do not provide meals for the children. You will need to pack a snack and a lunch for your child daily.
